A downloadable game

You're the King, and your loyal Knight is eager to help you in battle... just don't let him weigh you down too much. A brief, three-level demo that explores the perks - and perils - of having a loyal warrior who just wants to help.

Created for the 2021 GMTK Game Jam. Supports both controller and keyboard!

Solo project, made in Godot. All sprite art is original, but a lot of it was created well before the jam, for other projects (and then modifed during the 48h to fit the theme). Uses some code I developed for another project, which handles boiler-plate things like camera movement, collisions, etc.

The music is a rhythm-section-only, swing cover of Louie Zong's wonderful "Hello World" - arranged by me (before the jam; it's a WIP of a full cover I hope to release eventually).

The sound effects are from the "se_old_pack00.zip" download on this website.

Install instructions

If the game displays a black screen on startup, try the "No Menus" version of the download. (This is an issue that affects only certain users, and I haven't found a fix)
